Origin Inner surface of obturator membrane and rim of pubis and ischium bordering membrane
Insertion Middle part of medial aspect of greater trochanter of femur
Action Abducts & externally rotates the extended hip and abducts the flexed thigh at the hip, and stabilises the hip during walking

Vasculature Inferior gluteal artery
