Quadriceps tendinopathy has similar symptom provocation patterns to patellar tendinopathy. When the pain radiates it can mimic patellofemoral pain syndrome.

It is more common in people who do jumping sports as well as in powerlifters and bodybuilders.

Under ultrasound incidental calcific changes are very common in the active population for example in cyclists.[1]
