Synonym Saturday night palsy
Pathophysiology Entrapment of the Radial Nerve at the radial groove of the humerus
Clinical Features Loss of sensation of the dorsal aspect of the lateral hand, part of the thumb, and proximal aspect of the dorsal 2-4 fingers. Weakness of extensors.

Radial neuropathy at the spiral groove is also known as saturday night palsy.

Clinical Features

Sensory impairment of dorsal aspect of the lateral hand, part of the thumb, and proximal aspect of the dorsal 2-4 fingers.

Muscles affected are extensor indicis, extensor digitorum communis, extensor carpi ulnaris, long head of extensor carpi radialis, supinator. The triceps are spared.
