Classification
- External Snapping Hip
Either the iliotibial band, anterior fibres of gluteus maximus, the tensor fascia lata, or a combination snap over the greater trochanter. Often the fibres are thickened and there may be associated bursitis. There may be an imbalance between activation of the gluteus maximus and tensor fascia lata.
- Internal Snapping Hip
