The branches of the basivertebral nerve coursing to the endplates can't be seen on MRI, but the foramen containing hte neurovascular bundle can be seen.

Origin Branch of the Sinuvertebral Nerve
Course Enters the vertebral body through the foramen in the posteiror wall, then ramifies caudal and cranial to the endplates.
Sensory innervation Vertebral endplates
BVN=Basivertebral nerve, SVN=Sinuvertebral nerve.[1]
