Ask the patient to point where they get most of their pain, either where it is most painful or where they feel it most often.

Midinguinal region think of hip joint. Medial groin also think hip joint but also consider adductors, symphysis pubis, etc. Hip pain can also be felt laterally and posteriorly.

An intra-articular source of pain is suggested by the "C-sign", "deep pointer sign", or "coordinate fingers" (see Figure 1)
