From the medial cord of the brachial plexus carrying C8โT1 fibers.

Course
|
Passes anterior to the axillary artery, enters and often pierces pectoralis minor, then sends multiple perforating branches to the deep surface of pectoralis major via the ansa pectoralis.

Major Branches
|
Muscular branches to pectoralis minor and to the sternocostal portion of pectoralis major.
|
Sensory innervation
|
No cutaneous field, providing proprioceptive afferents from pectoralis minor and pectoralis major.
|
Motor innervation
|
Pectoralis minor and the sternocostal fibers of pectoralis major facilitating scapular protraction/depression and strong adduction/internal rotation.
