Insertion Base of the first metacarpal, radial aspec
Action Thumb Abduction, also assists with wrist radial deviation.
Synergists Abductor Pollicis Brevis, Palmaris Longus, Extensor Pollicis Brevis, Opponens Pollicis
Antagonists
Spinal innervation C7, C8, T1
Peripheral Innervation Posterior Interosseous Nerve (branch of Radial Nerve)
Vasculature

The most anterior of the 3 tendons at the base of the CMC joint; palpate immediately proximal to the CMC joint
