Axillary Nerve
Nerve Type	Mixed nerve
Origin	posterior cord of the brachial plexus
Course	passes out of axilla through the quadrangular space to the upper arm
Major Branches	superior lateral cutaneous nerve of the arm
Sensory innervation	skin overlying deltoid muscle
Motor innervation	deltoid and teres minor muscles

Deltoid	Anterior deltoid: Anterior and superior lateral third of the clavicle Middle deltoid: Superior lateral surface of the acromion process of the scapula Posterior deltoid: Inferior lip of the posterior border of the spine of the scapula	Anterior deltoid: Deltoid tuberosity of the humerus Middle deltoid: Deltoid tuberosity of the humerus Posterior deltoid: Deltoid tuberosity of the humerus
Teres Minor	Upper 2/3 dorsal surfaces of lateral border of scapula	Lowest facet of greater tubercle of humerus and shoulder joint capsule	Externally rotates shoudler joint, stabilises head of humerus in glenoid cavity during should movement.
