Flexor Digiti Minimi Brevis (Hand)
Muscle Type
Origin Tendon of Flexor Carpi Ulnaris and the pisiform bone
Insertion By two slips. One is into the base of proximal phalanx of little finger on the ulnar side. The other is into the ulnar border of extensor expansion.
Action Abductions, assists in opposition, and may assist MCPJ flexion of little finger. May also assist in extension of IPJs (due to insertion into extensor expansion)

Patient: Sitting or supine

Fixation: Stabilised by clinician or on table

Test: Abduction of little finger

Pressure: Pressure against ulnar aspect of little finger, into adduction towards midline of hand
