| Insertion | By two slips. One is into the base of proximal phalanx of little finger on the ulnar side. The other is into the ulnar border of extensor expansion. |
| Action | Abductions, assists in opposition, and may assist MCPJ flexion of little finger. May also assist in extension of IPJs (due to insertion into extensor expansion) |

Patient: Sitting or supine
Fixation: Stabilised by clinician or on table
Test: Abduction of little finger
Pressure: Pressure against ulnar aspect of little finger, into adduction towards midline of hand
